Eastbourne is not always the first place people think of when they picture digital and technology.

AI has stopped knocking at the door; it’s already at the table. It drafts our proposals, spots patterns before we do, and nudges better decisions in real time. For leaders, the challenge isn’t adopting AI - it’s leading people through it. That’s the focus of my Eastbourne DigiFest session: practical, humane leadership in an AI-accelerated world.

In 2000, Eastbourne’s population was around 89,000. As of 2020, it was more than 103,000, a percentage rise of over 15%, making Eastbourne the second largest district in East Sussex, after the city of Brighton. 

We are extremely lucky in Eastbourne to have a whole raft of family-friendly activities, none of which ever seem to be more than 15-20 minutes drive away.

The University of Brighton is renowned for its cutting-edge facilities, industry partnerships, and innovative approach to education.

However, we have to admit that Eastbourne has, somewhat unjustifiably, acquired this reputation as a result of press hype and TV entertainers making the town the butt of their humour. Tricky to shake off! The average age of our residents is actually only 45.
