Part Time

SuperCare is a rapidly growing provider of Residential Children's Homes across the South East. Our homes support young people with complex emotional, behavioural, developmental, and mental health needs, many of whom have experienced trauma, attachment disruptions, or neurodiversity.

We are now seeking a creative, reflective, and trauma?informed Art Therapist to join our Clinical & Therapy Team on a part time basis. Working 1 or 2 days per week across our Eastbourne homes, you will use art?based therapeutic approaches to help young people express emotions, build resilience, process experiences, and develop a stronger sense of identity and safety.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Behaviour Analysts, Registered Managers, and Residential Care Teams to ensure a holistic and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities
As an Art Therapist, you will:
• Carry out therapeutic assessments to understand emotional, sensory, and relational needs.
• Deliver 1:1 and small?group art therapy sessions tailored to each young person.
• Support young people to explore feelings, develop emotional regulation, and build confidence through creative expression.
• Create safe, structured, and nurturing therapeutic spaces within the home environment.
• Provide staff with guidance on creative, expressive, and relational approaches that support emotional wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively within the MDT to ensure consistent, needs?led therapeutic support.
• Attend MDT meetings, placement reviews, clinical discussions, and staff handovers (as required for part time hours).
• Maintain accurate, timely, and safeguarding compliant clinical notes.
• Prepare therapeutic materials, resources, and creative interventions.
• Participate in clinical supervision.
• Engage in CPD, reflective practice, and relevant training.
• Work sensitively with children who may have experienced trauma, neurodiversity, SEMH needs, attachment difficulties, or communication challenges.

About You
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Art Therapist with a passion for supporting young people through creative therapeutic work. You should have:
• A recognised MA in Art Psychotherapy / Art Therapy
• HCPC registration (required for qualified Art Therapists)
• Experience working with children or young people with emotional, behavioural, or developmental needs
• A strong understanding of trauma?informed practice and creative therapeutic processes
• Someone proactive, organised, and confident working independently across multiple sites
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills
• A warm, patient, and resilient approach with a genuine commitment to improving young people's emotional wellbeing

(Experience in residential care, CAMHS, SEN, or social care settings is highly advantageous.)
